Sari cringed as a spider ran across her bare foot. It wasn’t easy in the wild, she thought to herself. She had been in the forest for only two days now but had already lost her shoes to an angry orangutan. She decided to give herself a break and sat down on a stump. Sari thought of herself as a very un-average 13-year old girl, for she had neither parents nor home. Sari suddenly heard a “screech!” and decided to move on.
Sari held her tummy. She was starving. She got up to look for some berries. She stopped at tiny bush with berries that were blue. “Blueberries!” exclaimed Sari. She picked one and popped it into her mouth. “Yum!” she started picking as many as she could to save for later. As she bent down to pick more blueberries, she noticed something green, with specks of blue peeking out of the bush. Sari fished it out. It was an egg! “Cool!” Sari whispered. Sari thought about keeping the egg. When it hatched, she could train it; so it would help her in the wild. “I’ll keep it.” Sari decided.
